Chad | Support for the supervision of the Agri-Food Entrepreneurship Project

As part of the Global Gateway strategy, the European Union Delegation to Chad is financing actions to promote the development and sustainable transformation of agri-food systems on the N’Djamena/Douala axis. The Agri-Food Entrepreneurship Project focuses on decent employment and increasing the incomes of young people and women through greater local processing of production in secondary cities and their production areas.

Funds are allocated to the French Development Agency and then to a consortium of NGOs to carry out activities to strengthen the capacities of farmers’ organisations, give them access to appropriate production tools and financing (technology halls, warehousing, tool libraries, etc.) while strengthening agricultural vocational training systems.

Red Mangrove and its subsidiary Tanalah Monitoring have been commissioned to support the agency in supervising the project and proposing additional monitoring and evaluation measures on the programme’s effects. On this last point, the measurement of the quality of jobs of the beneficiaries and the impact of the project on working conditions have been selected.
